But he is grateful to his ex-girlfriend actress Gemma Atkinson for helping him improve his English.

“I learnt to speak English well with my girlfriend there. I lost my embarrassment. She helped a lot,” he said.

Ex-Hollyoaks actress Gemma Atkinson is going to strip on stage in the  production of Calendar Girls.

Gemma, who has already appeared in the West End production but kept her clothes on as beautician Elaine, will this time play Celia (Miss September).

The play, adapted from Tim Firth’s screenplay for the hit film of the same name, will open at the Chichester Festival Theatre for two weeks on 25 January 2010 before moving to various venues around the country.

Gemma Atkinson paid a visit to patients at Christie Hospital in support of cancer patients.

She is hoping others will help her raise money for cancer patients for the first Christie’s Week.

Patient Jonathan Papafio, aged 17, said: “It was lovely to meet and chat with Gemma as I was not expecting it at all. It really put a smile on my face.”
